    Anyone playing through Apocalypse again and looking for a challenge, consider this: the ApocUtil tool allows you to modify the number of aliens present in missions. However, this also translates into the cityscape aspect of the game. By increasing the number of Aliens to 250%, the game becomes a completely new challenge.

    Each drop will infect a building with 10-20 aliens. Infections in the city are extremely prolific and spread rapidly. You will be fighting aliens so numerous and relentless that the scarring of Megaprimus will cause the organizations to rally against you over time in just as great a number.

    Your agents will be forced to use weapons you aren't used to using, as the ammunition supplied by Megapol and Marsec is extremely limited, and your enemies are many. (Alternatively, use ApocUtil to increase item availability to 150%, but this also unlocks the whole market at once). In my experience, a second medbay is also necessary as all agents that survive are perpetually injured. It's the kind of challenge that can make the game interesting again for anyone who has mastered the vanilla version.

    I can't play without it these days. Another point of difficulty is that you are going to generate many more points from battles due to the increased numbers, which is going to cause the Aliens to get new tech incredibly quickly. You may be up against shields and devastators before you've researched disruptors if you aren't careful. You'll want to make sure you shoot those UFOs down in time!

    I also believe it may be a useful mod as you can also turn aliens down instead of up. May be useful for tracking infiltration as there is definitely a marked difference in infiltration based on alien numbers
