    Man, I loved this game...

Hi everyone. I'm an experienced C++ developer, but I've never done any kind of game programming. Please let me know if there's something I can help out with, maybe once you've gotten things off the ground a little.

I enjoy the original and the new one by Firaxis. Never played the other strategy games even though I have them in my steam library. I'll try and help by figuring out the file formats.

Thanks. I think between the old apoc remake, and JonnyH's code, we have a good chunk, but I've not yet gone through them all, so if you spot any not covered, or incorrect, please let us know :)

I was planning on looking at the tactics side of things as it looks lightly touched upon. I doubt anything will be as annoying as Marvel vs Capcom 2 sprite compression.

Hello everybody! Just saw this remarkable project, that absolutely made my day! I love Apocalypsy, but the standard version is really annoying sometimes (lagg, bugs etc) So, an Openversion would be really lovely :D I cant help with programming, but if needed, i can translate to german, english, and hungaryan (ufopedia and those stuff), if needed ^^ Greets!

Welcome, and thanks. German and Hungarian would be great. There's basically nothing to translate yet, but there will be :)

I do not understand and I do not speak English! :-[
    I use Google Translator... ::)
    Nobody is perfect! ;)

Apoc is my favorite game. Even more since I discovered how to operate under Xindows XP.
My second and third favorite games are: UFO Defense/OpenXCom and IL-2!

I find the "normal" game great. But I'm sure that "modable" version will be a must play!
    I wish you every success!
    ... and thank you very much ! :) :)

I'm not a coder or anything but I will play anything you dish out. I always wanted to play apoc but I was so scared of it without a mod like OpenXcom that I never got into it. But now I'll start trying to learn it thanks to this, good luck on this project!

Depends what you mean by "playable" ;)

If you want to look at a menu screen that does nothing apart from play music, now.

If you want cityscape, battlescape etc... well, urm, maybe a couple of years

There are lots of factors that will drastically change the timescales.
It took OXC something like 4 or 5 years to get to v1.0.
It also depends on what contributions I get. If JonnyH left already, and I was running this as a one-man show, with how my real life is going at the minute, you'd be lucky to even see the cityscape complete this decade. On the other hand, if five other developers each jumped in and everyone all wrote a different piece of the game, then it'd be done a lot quicker.

The answer is "How long is a piece of string?", but I wouldn't expect anything closer to being able to actually "play" OpenApoc for at least a year, or maybe even two

    Hello everybody!
Thanks to pmprog for starting such a great project. I'm an old fan of the series (never digested Interceptor and Enforcer well, though) and I'm extremely happy to see this happen.
I'm not a programmer, but I will help in any other possible way (italian translation?).
