I want to know a couple of things about vanilla Apocalypse so I can stick them up on UFOpaedia.

    1. How does combat experience work (i.e. stat improvement from Battlescape missions)?

    2. What is the formula for the chance of improvement in the Psi-gym? I know the amount of improvement is 1 for energy and floor(Energy/20) for attack and defence, but I don't know the chance of improvement. I've heard (1 - 1/3 * (current stat/starting stat)), but my testing with humans stuck in the Psi-gym has shown a much lower chance of improvement (for Psi-energy) than the 2/3 that formula gives.

    3. How does Micronoid Rain work? I saw an old thread in this forum that gave flat chances going up to 60% at Superhuman, but that can't possibly be unconditionally true. I tested with hacking the aliens to do all Micronoid Rain from day 1 and in over a hundred instances I didn't see anyone flip; this is P < 10^-39.

Micronoid Rain does not depend on the complexity of the game, but depends on the week. Within a week, a mission is chosen randomly. See this table.

I'm not talking about its probability of being chosen as a mission. I understand that bit, and have already put it up on UFOpaedia. That table is how I hacked the aliens to always do Micronoid Rain.

I am asking about what happens, if anything, when a UFO executes that mission (dropping the blue rain). I have never seen this do anything whatsoever, but I keep hearing about it flipping organisations. I have read the thread on this forum which researched it, but I am certain the probabilities given there are not the full answer; I allowed over 100 Micronoid Rains to occur on Superhuman difficulty and nothing happened. Either those probabilities are not correct, or there is some further element to Micronoid Rain's success chance.

Micronoid Rain, in fact, neither of which does not occur at this mission. Firstly, this mission works only for bases. When it is executed, only a mark is set on the base. Further, this is used in the next attack.
I think this mission "Find and mark the base"

So the whole thing about subversion is an urban legend, and the real purpose of the mission is:

    1) Scan random buildings to see if they're an X-COM base and, if it is, mark it
    2) If a building has been marked, all following missions of this type will divert one UFO to drop an assault force into it

    Is that right?

    Thanks a lot.

Could you enlighten me about the first two questions? I know we've already discussed it on IRC but I couldn't make much sense of your answers (possibly the language issue, which isn't your fault). Pastebins would be very useful.

    micronoid rain algorithm:

    if veh already drawing rain:
1.check target bld for base status and set rain flag, if it set, attack.
2.if it base and rain flag not set, set it.

if alien ship not drawing smoke or rain:
check target bld for base status and set rain flag, if it set and base, draf rain, else drawing smoke

    need to check it

This is not what I meant by "the first two questions". I mean I would like some explanation of this:

If possible, I'd like code pastebins for these, as we seem to have trouble understanding each other and I should be able to understand the code for these.

    I have another question.

What is the formula for how many people of each type (human agents, hybrids, androids, biochemists, quantum physicists, engineers) become available for hire on a given day, and for how many days a given person stays available for hire?

Uploading some savefiles here to demonstrate an issue regarding Security Stations.
