Interesting idea, but I would leave it post 1.0 :)

It would be worth implementing if you manage to capture the tone of the game in the generated music.

If you manage that, it's a matter of setting the "mood" of the moment depending on the amount of enemies on screen, weapons being fired, agents injured, etc...

This wasn't posted as an Apoc related - hence why it's in OffTopic... besides, as I said, Apocalypse already has dynamic music to a degree.

Apocalypse does that already. It's just music is chosen from a list rather than being created on the fly

    wouldn't this increase processing requirements?

I like the idea, i think the immersion created according to the intensity of a firefight will be great. Nice ideas, maybe you guys can comeup with some ideas and maybe make it work for openapoc:)

If the music was created on the fly? Yes, but it's still probably a lot less effort than you'd think, if your music is tracked

The hard part is conceptualising the creation of melodies. i suppose if you had good music theory knowledge even that might not be so hard. You could also pregenerate your melodies an interpolate the tracks when switching (as opposing to cross-fading).
