Does OpenApoc intend to do something like OpenXCom in terms of managing soldiers' equipment and supplies? I've been playing Apoc on dosbox but the extreme micromanagement is really killing the fun for me. I have to reequip and resupply every agent individually. It is also very hard to keep track of who has what. I don't have particularly great short term memory. The only way to know who has what equipment is checking each soldier individually.

When the project succeeds, I'm sure there will be tons of people improving the game in all ways. Like Yankes and Meridian do for OpenXCom.

The original game tries to re-stock all agents with the same equipment they left with, but it's only on the 5 minute 'long' update cycle, making it kinda pointless if you want to run multiple missions back-to-back, as the second time they likely 'left' with half-used ammo etc.

And yes, I expect to improve on such things, like having templates/whatnot to streamline this, but we're trying to keep a tight '1.0 = no more features than the original' focus, as otherwise we'll never even get that far. But even then, hopefully we'll have added the hooks required to relatively easily add this sort of stuff, either in the code game or as 'mods'.

Thanks for the reply JohnnyH. I understand 1.0 takes priority.

    Agree with you guys 100%.

Get the game going first before anybody discusses quality of life changes.

It is quite annoying to have your troops raiding a Cult of Sirius church when you realize they only have one clip of ammunition.
